CyberData Releases In-Wall 2-Port Gigabit PoE Switch, Expanding Line Of VoIP Networking Devices

Monterey, CA – CyberData Corporation, developers of innovative SIP endpoints, announced today the release of the 011528 In-Wall 2-Port Gigabit PoE Switch. The In-Wall Switch is a flush-mount version of their popular desktop device which expands a single PoE network connection into one or two PoE network ports.

In the basic configuration, one of the Gigabit ports can drive a VoIP phone directly with PoE and the

other Gigabit port can be connected to a user’s PC. No external power supplies are required, and the mounting is discreet, offering a cleaner drop directly from a standard size single gang wall outlet.

“Our clients love the wall-mounted version of this device, but we were getting requests from installers that having a flush-mounted version would provide a clean, low-profile look,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData. He continued, “As organizations begin to revert back to on-site work, many are updating their paging and communication systems to reflect new needs. The In-Wall Switch is a simple device that offers a clean look and, since it can drop into a standard size gang wall outlet, it makes the install easy as well.”

For Resellers, Installers and IT professionals, the 011528 In-Wall 2-Port Gigabit PoE Switch ships with a low-voltage mounting bracket, making it a simple and easy installation.

CyberData has plans to release more devices within its line of SIP enabled IP endpoints and accessories, with a focus on delivering unique, high quality paging and notification devices that meet the needs of users within a host of environments.

Direct Routing For Microsoft Teams Via Ribbon Facilitates Simple Integration Of Any CyberData Device

Monterey, CA – CyberData Corporation, developers of innovative SIP endpoints, announced the completion of integration and testing with Ribbon’s Session Border Controllers (SBCs) in a Microsoft Teams environment using CyberData’s SIP endpoints. Organizations that already use Microsoft Teams for file sharing, video conferencing and more, can now seamlessly incorporate SIP paging and notification devices into their environment with a Ribbon SBC.

Using CyberData devices on the Microsoft Teams platform requires an intermediary device to communicate between Microsoft Teams and the CyberData hardware. This is due to limitations on what hardware can operate in the Microsoft Teams environment. Ribbon’s Microsoft-certified SBCs are required to connect Teams to a VoIP provider. Ribbon’s SBCs secure these connections and assure interoperability so organizations can select from hundreds of service providers across the globe. As such, Ribbon’s SBCs can facilitate using CyberData devices with Microsoft Teams.

“Having learned that almost every element in Ribbon’s Session Border Controller portfolio is Microsoft Teams-certified made testing Ribbon a no-brainer. They have decades of experience building session border controllers,” said Phil Lembo, President/CEO of CyberData. He added, “Organizations of every size continue to adjust to and settle into new ways of connecting and communicating. It’s critical to ensure all methods of communication, including paging or emergency notification, work effectively and are reliable. The Ribbon integration delivers that reliability.”

With this latest integration, Resellers and MSPs in the VoIP industry can offer a certified VoIP Phone system and SIP endpoints that are compatible with Microsoft Teams, providing customers with options for overhead paging, mass notification and secure access control. With Microsoft Team’s continued growth, this collaboration opens up significant opportunities for customers in SMB, education, medical/healthcare and public/private sectors.

Built for Demanding Environments, CyberData’s New 2-Port IP67 802.3bt to 802.3at PoE Gigabit Switch Extends the Range of Outdoor PoE Devices

Monterey, CA CyberData Corporation, developers of innovative SIP endpoints, announced today the release of the 011539 2-Port IP67 802.3bt to 802.3at PoE Gigabit Switch, a waterproof and impact-resistant device designed to split a single PoE connection into one or two PoE network ports. Ideal for large outdoor footprints, the IP67 PoE Switch supports and extends data transmission and PoE power supply up to 100m from the Power Source Equipment (PSE) ports.

In the basic configuration, one of the Gigabit downstream ports can drive a security camera directly with PoE and the other Gigabit port can be connected to an outdoor paging device such as our SIP IP66 Outdoor Horn or SIP IP66 Outdoor RGB (Multi-color) Strobe.

Many of our clients extend their mass notification systems to the perimeter outside of their organizations for areas such as parking lots. They want to be sure those devices will work reliably, regardless of the weather,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData. “This device ensures those endpoints get the sufficient power needed to operate in harsh environments. For clients with surveillance needs, this device provides an easy interface to ensure the camera continues to receive power, regardless of weather extremes. It’s a small investment that guarantees the more expensive equipment continues to work.

For Resellers, Installers and security professionals, the competitively-priced 011539 2-Port IP67 802.3bt to 802.3at PoE Gigabit Switch can be offered to their clients as a way to protect their investment and ensure that the more costly paging or security devices within their organization work reliably.

CyberData has plans to release multiple innovative devices in development in 2021, all with the goal of meeting the needs of their clients.

CyberData Releases InformaCast® Enabled WiFi Alert Button,
Perfect for Enterprise-wide Alert Messaging

Monterey, CA – CyberData Corporation, developers of innovative SIP endpoints, announced today the release of the 011527 InformaCast® Enabled WiFi Alert Button. The InformaCast Enabled WiFi Alert Button works with the InformaCast Server to generate an event notification, which can then deliver an appropriate mass notification response across several different platforms.

When installed, the WiFi Alert Button can operate as an emergency or panic button, or a general events such as delivering an SMS message, playing a stored audio message over an endpoint, or placing a call to a phone and playing a stored audio message. The applications are varied, and work well in environments where there may be a need for an immediate and enterprise-wide response to an event, such as schools/universities, retirement homes and assisted living communities, and retail establishments.

The InformaCast Enabled WiFi Alert Button is a key component to any emergency notification solution, and is powered by any +5V supply, such as a cell phone charger. In the event of loss of power, there is a 4-hour back-up battery.

“We’ve collaborated with the folks at Singlewire for a long time, and their input into the development of the WiFi Alert Button was crucial,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData. He continued, “Markets greatly impacted during this pandemic such as retail, schools and universities, and nursing care/retirement communities now have a cost-effective Alert Button that is WiFi, low-profile and easy to set up.”

Peter Lord, Solutions Architect at Singlewire, agrees. “After I got the button on the network it was really quite simple to setup. It looks nice and doesn't require the extra cost of a switchport,” he continued, adding “once I got it connected it worked great!”

CyberData is developing multiple new offerings for release during the year, and continues their collaboration with partners such as Singlewire, Zoom, RingCentral, Vodia and more, to demonstrate how clients can use their VoIP network and CyberData endpoints to deliver a complete emergency paging and mass notification solution.

CyberData Certifies Interoperability with Zoom, Giving Zoom Phone Clients More Options When It Comes To Paging, Mass Notification And Access Control

Monterey, CA – CyberData Corporation, developers of innovative SIP endpoints and Zoom, makers of Zoom Phone, a modern cloud phone system, announce they have completed interop certification. Zoom Phone clients now have significant options when it comes to paging, mass notification and secure access control.

CyberData, in business since 1974, designs and manufactures SIP endpoints that use the VoIP network to facilitate paging, mass notification and secure access control. Their extensive line of products, including InformaCast enabled and Syn-Apps enabled endpoints, deliver a host of options for any environment, with the robust features and functions that customers require.

Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars, and now offers the ability to integrate into a client’s organization specifically to meet their paging, mass notification and secure access control needs.

“This is a year filled with unexpected events, and CyberData is responding to those events,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData. He continued, “With so many organizations using Zoom and Zoom’s Cloud Phone system, it makes sense to collaborate and certify a paging and mass notification solution for those clients, giving them the peace of mind and confidence in knowing that staff and/or customers can receive important and critical notifications within a Zoom environment.“

Paging and access control capability have become particularly important for many small businesses. With less staff on site, business owners need to feel confident that their staff can enter and exit safely and that visitors have a way to notify staff of their presence, while also ensuring safe distancing and other protocols are followed. This latest collaboration continues CyberData’s goal of ensuring their SIP-enabled endpoints can work in a host of environments by simply using the customer’s cloud-based or on-prem VoIP network to deliver a solution.

Singlewire made the announcement today that Cyberdata has won the 2020 IP Speaker Award in the Outdoor Speaker category.

In 2018, Singlewire held their first annual IP Speaker Awards to aid customers in finding the right solutions for building their mass notification ecosystems. Customers frequently ask for recommendations, prompting Singlewire to work with their partners and invite them to share their favored offerings for a variety of use cases. That information, along with feedback from customers and experts on their team helped them identify finalists in each category. Singlewire then awarded top prizes for various categories. Positive feedback the past two years has prompted Singlewire to continue these efforts, and results were released today.

“We are so excited to learn we won again. He continued, “This year has turned out to be a year that’s filled with surprises. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, we are seeing increased activity from many organizations who need to ensure their paging systems are delivering timely and urgent safety messages indoors and outdoors, and the IP66 Outdoor Horn is perfect for that.”

As Singlewire stated in their news release, “IP speakers are an important part of mass notification because they can deliver intrusive audio notifications that capture people’s attention. CyberData’s latest device, like the recent release of the Multicast Ceiling Speaker carries a competitive price without sacrificing quality, and delivers the crucial functions needed in any InformaCast environment requiring paging.

Multicast refers to a group communication mechanism where audio data can be transmitted to multiple destinations simultaneously. The InformaCast Enabled Ceiling Speaker is capable of receiving both Singlewire’s InformaCast and multicast messages in varied environments such as schools, SMB, healthcare and nursing care facilities, and more.

“We’re all seeing the effects of tariffs on the free market and it concerns us because our mandate is to make quality VoIP endpoints with options that meet conservative budgets. As soon as we released the Multicast Ceiling Speaker, we received calls requesting an InformaCast version,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData. He continued, “Luckily for us,
we are flexible and nimble when it comes to listening to and responding to what our customers and Distributor/VAR network have been telling us, so this release is a natural for us.
We keep hearing that customers need another option. So, very quickly, we’ve developed and delivered that option, without sacrificing the CyberData quality customers have come to expect.”

Additional features include paging prioritization and background music, support for 10 multicast groups, web-based configuration and configurable event generation for device health and status monitoring. These are critical features required by customers such as schools and universities and CyberData was cognizant of these requirements during the development of the device.

When it comes to development of VoIP endpoints, CyberData continues to lead the industry in offering a variety of endpoints for any budget. To learn more about CyberData’s InformaCast Enabled Ceiling Speaker or any device in CyberData’s line of VoIP endpoints, please visit www.CyberData.net.

CyberData Simplifies VoIP Connectivity For Secure Access, With Two New Releases: Outdoor Intercom RFID Access Control Endpoint and Outdoor Video Intercom RFID Access Control Endpoint

No Set Up Fees. No License Fees. No Monthly Monitoring Fees. CyberData Delivers Ease Of Use And Cost Savings With New Releases

Monterey, CA - CyberData Corporation continues its focus on Secure Access Control for the SMB market with two new releases: SIP Outdoor Intercom RFID Access Control Endpoint and SIP Outdoor Video Intercom RFID Access Control Endpoint. With these two new releases, VoIP VARs and Integrators who serve the SMB market can deliver a complete IP Access Control solution to customers using the customer’s new or existing IP PBX server, and without the usual monthly monitoring or set up fees normally associated with it.

Finding low-cost, high benefit devices that can enable secure access control is critical for a customer’s needs when they are deploying a secure access control system. Traditional access control devices may require control panels, proprietary software/hardware and may carry additional costs for services such as monitoring or system upgrades. These latest releases from CyberData, which began its development of Secure Access Control endpoints last year, provide an alternative offering that VoIP VARs and Installers can sell to those customers who are looking to integrate access control devices within an already existing VoIP infrastructure.

“Our goal is always to deliver reliable and innovative options when it comes to mass paging, visual alerting, and now with secure access control. These devices are cost-effective alternatives to traditional devices, with no set up or monitoring fees. They can operate in either stand-alone mode or as a network device which makes them compelling offerings to customers, especially SMB, since it takes into account their current needs, and what may be their future needs,” said Phil Lembo, President/CEO of CyberData. “We pride ourselves on delivering alerting and notification devices that integrate seamlessly into a customer’s infrastructure, and in simplifying the connectivity between that infrastructure, and our CyberData endpoint.”

CyberData has implemented a high level of mutual authentication security within these RFID endpoints. Data between the card and the reader is encrypted using AES128, ensuring that hackers will not be able to “spy” on the card’s data being sent to the reader and duplicate that card to provide access.

Both devices are full-featured, with web based reporting and the ability to lock and unlock doors and gates. Both devices can also store up to 500 codes, including a “bad code” list that, when activated, will make a phone call and play a pre-recorded message, or broadcast a multicast message to IP notification endpoints.

Latest VoIP Releases From CyberData Deliver Outdoor Audio And Visual Notification For A Host Of Environments
CyberData augments its line of SIP and InformaCast-enabled devices for visual and audio alerting in outdoor environments with new SIP and InformaCast Enabled Outdoor Strobes and a SIP Outdoor Call Button.

Monterey, CA - CyberData Corporation today announced it is adding to its line of innovative VoIP endpoints by releasing four devices for SIP-enabled and InformaCast-enabled environments that enable audio and visual alerting, and carry an IP66 rating for outdoor elements.

Releases include the 011479 SIP Outdoor RGB (Multi-Color) Strobe, Singlewire’s 011489 InformaCast Enabled Outdoor RGB Multi-Color Strobe, the 011491 SIP Outdoor Call Button and the 011490 Outdoor Auxiliary Strobe Kit, which allows users to connect to a supported CyberData IP endpoint. Power and signaling for the Auxiliary Strobe comes from the attached CyberData endpoint.
The Outdoor Strobe variants meet ADA requirements for telephony signaling and notification and can be set up as part of a ring group or page group to give visual notification of incoming calls or pages. Multiple colors, blink rate and brightness can be selected for each of the different activation methods. SIP and InformaCast-enabled Strobes offer Night Ringer function via a second SIP extension.

The 011491 SIP Outdoor Call Button is a reliable solution for a one-touch programmable call to an IP phone or page announcement. If an event occurs, only a simple button press is required to automatically place a call to the configured phone or extension number. When the called number answers, the 011491 SIP Outdoor Call Button plays and repeats a stored audio file. The 011491 SIP Outdoor Call Button can also be configured to work in an InformaCast-enabled environment.

“We already have indoor versions of these devices but have gotten a lot of requests for outdoor versions with an IP rating. In public spaces, the Strobes in particular allow for signaling to the hearing-impaired, letting them know there is an announcement. This is a safety issue and it’s important that in any kind of unplanned event, there are devices in place that can signal to all within that environment with both a visual and, in the case of the 011491 SIP Outdoor Call Button, audio alert,” said Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData.

These devices can be deployed in parking lots and garages, playgrounds, and safe houses or shelters and feature TLS 1.2 for enhanced security.

Additional features include support for 10 multicast groups for the 011479 SIP Outdoor Strobe, and web-based configuration and configurable event generation for device health and status monitoring for all devices. These are critical features required by customers such as schools and universities and CyberData was cognizant of these requirements during the development of these devices.
