Scenario
An Assisted Living Facility with 25 rooms needs a way to provide instant communication between tenant and main office staff for safety/medical emergency situations. Announcements and two-way communication is also needed at various general/common areas such as the cafeteria, exercise room, pool and parking lot.
Solution
Any Nursing Home/Assisted Living facility can benefit from IP based notification and communications. Through a SIP IP-PBX system, a user can pick up a handset and broadcast a message to the whole facility or to an individual zone.
For this scenario, CyberData recommends Indoor Intercoms to be located within each private room for each tenant. These intercoms allow for instant two-way communication and enable quick response to normal and adverse communication requirements.
Keypad Intercoms - at the entrance of the Pool area. This will notify staff that someone has gone into the pool area and alert the on-site lifeguard.
Outdoor Intercom - at the entrance of the facility, hooked up to an electronic relay and door strike. This allows for both two-way communication and secure access.
Emergency Intercom - at all general locations, such as pool, exercise room and cafeteria and goes directly to main office to alert for a medical or physical emergency.
VoIP Ceiling Speakers (both with and without Clock Kits) - installed in the cafeteria, the exercise room, the main office and per floor of the living quarters. This allows for the staff to play pre-recorded announcements regarding activity start times, as well as general, live announcements for special events or for paging staff.
The SIP Call Button is placed at various points throughout the apartment hallways. If an event takes place, the user depresses the button. The Call Button automatically makes a call to a pre-set phone or extension number. When the called number answers, the Call Button plays and repeats a stored audio file. This stored audio file is uploaded by the administrator to meet the needs to the installed location.
Loudspeakers Amplifiers - along with mini-horn loudspeakers or outdoor speakers are placed at strategic points outside the building, in the parking lot, and also the pool area. These are high wattage amplifiers and allow for paging in noisy environments.
As SIP or MultiCast endpoints, CyberData VoIP products install seamlessly into an IP based phone system or can be driven from a number of 3rd party paging and event notification software products supported by the CyberData endpoints.
